MOESC to host annual Artapolooza Fine Arts Festival

MANSFIELD — Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center will host its annual Artapolooza Fine Arts Festival March 24 through March 29 at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center, 890 W. Fourth St. in Mansfield.

This year's exhibition will include some musical performances at 6 p.m. on March 24 as well as during gallery hours throughout the weekend.

The gallery will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 25 and noon to 4 p.m. on March 26. The gallery will also be open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 27-29. A slideshow presentation and gallery walk will also be available on Mid-Ohio ESC's website at the end of the event.

Artapolooza will be accepting all types of visual art projects: paintings, drawings, sculptures, as well as mixed media and digital art. Students from all area schools, not just MOESC member districts, may submit projects for the festival.

Vision support group to meet Wednesday

There will be a meeting for people who have problems seeing from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the FC Bank Community Room, 105 Washington Square in Bucyrus. People attending this support group meeting exchange ideas on how they deal with reduced vision. There are also catalogs of low vision equipment available to help people function better with the vision they have.

'American Pickers' to film in Ohio

"American Pickers" plans to film episodes of The History Channel hit television series throughout Ohio in April. The show follows skilled "pickers" in the business as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.

"American Pickers" is looking for leads.
