Search for the next Crawford County Fair royalty

Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Crawford County Fair Royalty Courts. This includes queen, king, prince, princess and livestock royalty. Applications can be found at crawford.osu.edu. Applications are due back to the extension office on or before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

All contestants must belong to an organization represented on the junior fair board. Queen and king candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 18 as of Jan. 1, 2022. Princess and prince candidates must be between the ages of 13 and 15 as of Jan. 1, 2022. Livestock royalty candidates must be 13 to 18 years old as of Jan. 1, 2022, and also enrolled in a livestock species project (alpaca, llama, beef, dairy, dairy beef, goat, poultry, rabbit, sheep or swine). The contest will take place at 3 p.m. on July 17 in the Youth Building.

Portion of Ohio 602 to be closed next week

The Ohio Department of Transportation says Ohio 602, just south of Lower Leesville Road, will close Monday for a culvert replacement.

The detour route for northbound motorists will be Ohio 602 to U.S. 30, west on U.S. 30 to County Road 330, east on County Road 330 to Ohio 602, and reverse for southbound motorists.

Work is expected to be completed by June 23.

Father's Day BBQ at K of C Hall

The Knights of Columbus Holy Trinity Council 711 is having its annual Father’s Day BBQ on Sunday at the K of C Hall, 217 S. Poplar St., Bucyrus. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until they are sold out.

The meal includes one-half chicken or ribs, applesauce, green beans, baked potato and roll. Tickets are $13 and it is carryout only.

Tiffin Glass Collectors Club to host 36th annual Artistry in American Glass Show & Sale

TIFFIN — The Tiffin Glass Collectors Club will host the 36th annual Artistry in American Glass Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The show will take place at the Tiffin Middle School, 103 Shepherd Drive, in Tiffin.

Glass dealers from several states will join local and area dealers at this popular glass show that attracts collectors from all over the United States. The fine tableware and decorative ware that was produced at the Tiffin Glass factory from 1889 to 1980 will be offered for sale along with other quality glassware from fellow dealers.

Admission to the show is $5. The show is in a handicapped accessible facility with free parking. Lunch and snacks are available for purchase.

Visitors are also encouraged to visit the Tiffin Glass Museum & Shoppe, 25–27 S. Washington St., Tiffin, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The museum will have extended hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekend.
