Briefs: Leaf collection continues in Marion

Three options for leaf disposal in Marion

Marion residents are reminded that yard waste and fall leaf pick-up will continue through Dec. 9. There are several options available for disposal of leaves.

Leaves may be raked to the tree lawn area to be vacuumed but should not be raked into the street or parking lane. Another option is to place leaves in biodegradable paper bags — limit three per week — for sanitation workers to pick up.

A third option is to take biodegradable paper bagged leaves to Outdoor Resource Supply at 560 Barks Road W. for drop off. This location will be open to city residents free of charge. Those dropping off leaves must stop at the office or another designated location where verification of city residency may be required. Items must be weighed by an Outdoor Resource Supply employee before materials are discarded. If non-biodegradable bags are used for collection, leaves must be emptied during drop-off.
