Madison Local Schools to hold kindergarten registration in April

Kindergarten registration for Madison Local Schools will be held April 3-28. Children are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2023-2024 school year if they are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1.

The first step in the registration process is to complete the online registration through FinalForms. The link can be found at mlsd.net under Madison FinalForms or using the link under kindergarten registration. For people who do not have internet access, schedule an appointment to complete the online forms with the child’s assigned building.

Madison South Preschool students moving into kindergarten will need to log into their FinalForms account and complete the 2023-2024 forms and schedule an appointment for kindergarten registration.

Once online forms are completed, schedule an appointment with the elementary school: Madison South Elementary, 419-522-4319; Mifflin Elementary, 419-589-6517; Eastview Elementary, 419-589-7335.

Documents needed for the appointment include student birth certificate, parent/guardian driver's license, custody papers (if applicable), parent/guardian proof of residency, and immunization records.

Portion of Mansfield street closed

South Adams Street from Dale Avenue to Home Avenue is closed for watermain repairs. It's expected to reopen by Tuesday. Traffic is advised to plan an alternate route to avoid possible delays.

Pond fish sale underway

If part of someone's spring ritual involves stocking a pond, consider ordering pond fish through the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (Richland SWCD) pond fish sale through April 13. Species are bluegill, channel catfish, hybrid bluegill, largemouth bass, redear shellcracker, yellow perch, white amur and fathead minnows. Pond conditioner, fish food, plastic bags and string also may be ordered through the sale.

This is the only pond fish sale Richland SWCD will sponsor this year. Order pick-up will take place at 10 a.m. April 21 at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

Iditarod event at Shelby library

SHELBY — Marvin Memorial Library will host Iditarod Event at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Siberian Husky Club of Greater Cleveland will demonstrate how to prepare from an Iditarod. Siberian Husky dogs will be available for photo opportunities. Refreshments will be provided.
