Madison Local Schools now conducting open enrollment

Madison Local Schools will accept open enrollment applications through May 31 for the 2023-2024 school year from any school district in Ohio.

Application period opened for conservation cost-share grants

In an effort to promote conservation practices by landowners, Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (Richland SWCD) is providing cost-share grants to offset some of the cost of installing a rain garden, purchasing a rain barrel or having soil tested. The practices help prevent storm water runoff, protect the health of soil and water resources, and conserve water.

Free produce distribution at Mansfield church

First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Ave. W., South Mulberry St., Mansfield, offers a free produce drive-thru distribution on the second Tuesday of the month, April-November. The next distribution will be 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. May 9.

The church receives more than 6,000 pounds of fresh produce for the distribution, which is open to everyone. Participants must take a state ID, driver's license or proof of residence.

First English volunteers will load the produce in the back or trunk of each vehicle.

Walking tacos at Marvin Memorial Library

SHELBY — The Friends of Marvin Memorial Library, 29 W. Whitney Ave., Shelby, will hosting a Walking Taco Fundraiser 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Kerr Garden Room. Freewill donations will support the Friends group. All are welcome to attend.

Walmart to offer free health screenings Saturday for Wellness Day

Walmart will hold its a Wellness Day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Customers can receive free health screenings for things such as glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure, as well as immunizations such as flu, COVID-19, shingles, tetanus, measles and others at pharmacies nationwide.

Select stores will feature vision screenings, in-store giveaways and demonstrations of wellness products, and customers can sample products including digestive supplements, vitamins and nutrition items at select locations.
