Common Pleas Court awarded grant

Administrative Judge Warren T. Edwards of the Marion County Common Pleas Court, General Division announced that the Marion County Adult Probation Department has been awarded the Community Corrections Act 2.0 Grant in the total amount of $1,181,256 for the next two fiscal year grant cycles.

The C.C.A. 2.0 grant will replace the three current ODRC grants (pre-trial, intensive supervision, JRIG) that expire at the end of the fiscal year, at the end of this month.

The new grant will cover-salaries and/or partial salaries for 10 employees, sober living, alcohol monitoring, Ohio Community Supervision System (OCSS) software expenses, drug tests and drug testing supplies (up to $50,000), and general supplies (up to $20,000).

“Grant funds such as these replace funds that would otherwise be made up of local tax dollars, reducing local taxpayer’s burden," noted Judge Edwards. "With these funds, the total grant funds that my administration has brought into Marion’s Court system during my first term in office is more than $5.43 million.”
