Area Agency on Aging salutes Bonnie Jolliff

MANSFIELD — Bonnie Jolliff is the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging's 2022 Marion Outstanding Senior Citizen. Throughout her life, Jolliff has made a priority to serve her community of Marion. She was named the Marion Outstanding Senior Citizen because of her leadership and altruism.

A retired corrections officer of the Marion Correctional Institute, Jolliff has continued to serve that community by volunteering with the dog training program and as a hostage negotiator. She has also made a significant impact as a hospice volunteer and with Eastern Star Home by providing transportation, emotional support, caregiving and companionship.

Each year the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one award recipient for each county in the Agency’s service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot).

Awardees must first be nominated by an individual or organization involved with seniors. They are then selected by the Agency based on the impact of their contributions and accomplishments within the community made after reaching age 60.
