Briefs: MTC-Franklin University partnership, street closing, YMCA lifeguard certification

COLUMBUS — Franklin University expanded its articulation partnership with Marion Technical College to provide access to the Franklin University Pathway Portal and $298 tuition rate for eligible Marion Technical College students and alumni.

Marion Technical College is the newest institution to join a growing number of community colleges partnering with Franklin to provide access to the Pathway Portal. Through this innovative tool, community college students and alumni from partner institutions gain insight into how the courses they have obtained through their associate degree work transfer toward one of Franklin’s 28 bachelor’s degrees.

Starting this fall, those community college students and alumni of Marion Tech’s and Franklin’s other partner institutions who have opted into the Pathway Portal and meet eligibility requirements will receive a special $298 Pathway Portal tuition rate.

More than 2,000 students from the initial 10 Pathway Portal partner institutions have already opted into the Pathway Portal since launching in March. These students are working toward earning their associate degree with Marion Technical College and other current Pathway Portal partners — Clark State Community College, Columbus State Community College, Eastern Gateway Community College, Edison State Community College, Lorain County Community College, Owens Community College, Rhodes State College, Sinclair Community College and Washington State Community College.
