Marion Popcorn Festival Miss and Ms. Pageant to be held Aug. 5

The 2023 Miss and Ms Marion Popcorn Festival Pageant will be at 6 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the River Valley High School auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door, cash or card, and will be $10 per adult. Children 12 and under will be $5 each.

The 2023 Miss Marion Popcorn Festival entrants are: Alysia Miller of Marion; Reagan Hummel of Marion; Kallie Gregory of Castalia; Sami-Kay Mergy of Marion; and Katiana Carmon of Marion. The Ms. contestants are: Star Duda of Mansfield; Danielle Miller of Marion; Amanda Sams of Geneva; Staci Bond of Marion; Ashley Wilson of Mansfield; Jennifer Litell of Marion; Sierra Johnson of Marion; Tammy Harrison of Green Camp; Rhonda Hero-Wilson of Marion; and Andrea Campbell of McArthur.

Marion Public Health announces one day closing

Due to staff in-service/training, Marion Public Health will be closed until 1 p.m. on Friday. The closing will affect the Administration, WIC, Vital Statistics, Environmental Health, Nursing, and Emergency Preparedness divisions. All divisions will resume business hours at 1 p.m.

Marion franchisee honored with Ziebart Outstanding Customer Service Award

Patrol enters 'Best Looking Cruiser' contest

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Highway Patrol has entered the 10th annual “Best Looking Cruiser” contest sponsored by the American Association of State Troopers (AAST). Voting for the best-looking cruiser will end at noon on July 31. Visit the Patrol’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages and click the link in any of the contest posts or visit the SurveyMonkey website to vote the Ohio State Highway Patrol as having the best-looking cruiser.

The top 13 photos receiving the highest number of votes will be featured in the 2024 AAST wall calendar and the photo that gets the highest number of votes will be featured on the cover.
