Several upcoming bloodmobiles slated for Richland County

The American Red Cross is asking the public to start the new season off with a lifesaving blood or platelet donation. Those who give this fall play an important role in keeping the blood supply high enough to help patients counting on blood products for care — especially ahead of the busy holiday season.

Book a time to give blood or platelets by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

There are a number of blood drives scheduled in Bellville, Butler, Mansfield and Shelby now through Oct. 14, including one from noon-6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Richland Mall and another from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct.7 at the Area Agency on Aging, 2131 Park Avenue West.

Romanchuk praises launch of new website

COLUMBUS — State Sen. Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) praised the recent launch of Cut Red Tape Ohio, a new website which will provide citizens the opportunity to request a review of a state regulation, which may be restricting their business, family or daily life.

Developed by the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR), the website reflects the ongoing effort of the legislature to reduce components of Ohio’s regulatory environment, which are negatively impacting Ohio's businesses and families.

The website is a result of the Ohio Senate's work in Senate Bill 9 requiring Ohio's state agencies to reduce the overall number of state regulations by 30% over three years.

Each inquiry received through the Cut Red Tape Ohio website will be reviewed; status updates of the review process will be provided by email to the inquirer. Submissions to the website apply to state regulations only.
