Richardson to meet Monday with Marion constituents

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) will be holding office hours in the 86th Ohio House District. Richardson encourages residents to schedule a time they can stop by and share ideas or ask questions.

Marion office hours will take place March 6 at the Marion Public Library, 445 E. Church St. She will also hold office hours this Friday at the Marysville Division of Police, 1250 W. 5th St., Marysville.

Richardson encourages anyone who would like to speak with her to schedule a meeting with her office at 614-466-8147 or rep86@ohiohouse.gov.

Portion of two Marion streets closed for four weeks

Wilson Avenue, between Benton Place and Barnhart Street, and Benton Place, between Wilson Avenue and Garfield Street, closed Feb. 22 and will remain closed for approximately four weeks. Local traffic should use East Center Street during this time.Barnhart Street will be re-opened to traffic during this period. Motorists are asked to use caution as this is an active work zone.

Underground Utilities, in contract with the City of Marion, is completing sewer installation in conjunction with the Benton Place Sewer Improvement Project.

Ag Day at the Capital brings local Farm Bureau members to Columbus

Over 300 Ohio Farm Bureau members, including representatives from Marion County Farm Bureau, gathered in downtown Columbus to meet one-on-one with their state senators and representatives during Ohio Farm Bureau’s annual Ag Day at the Capital on Feb. 15. Ohio Farm Bureau priority issues such as farmland preservation, eminent domain reform and strengthening the state’s food supply chain were discussed, along with a host of other community issues.

Attendees were joined by Gov. Mike DeWine and the newly appointed director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Brian Baldridge. They joined Ohio Farm Bureau Executive Vice President Adam Sharp for a fireside chat to share goals for the H2Ohio water quality initiative, protecting farmland from development pressures and how to keep the food supply system running smoothly and safely for all Ohioans.

The annual Ag Day at the Capital event embodies the grassroots efforts of Ohio Farm Bureau member volunteers.

John Hafer, Molly Hafer, Cy Prettyman, Steve Wickersham and Jonathan Zucker were there on behalf of Marion County Farm Bureau and visited Rep. Riordan McClain and Sen. Bill Reineke during their time in Columbus.
