Warsaw man injured in wreck

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a single vehicle crash at 9:23 p.m. Monday on County Road 12, near Millcreek Township Road 125.

Authorities said Harvey Bailey, 69, of Warsaw, was traveling south when he slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. Bailey was taken to Coshocton Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Three Rivers Fire District and Rigz Towing and Recovery.

Frazesyburg teen strikes tree in crash

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a traffic crash at 10:44 p.m. Sunday in the 17000 block of Washington Township Road 65.

Authorities said Caleb D. Trull, 19, of Frazeysburg, was traveling westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve due to ice and snow on the roadway. The vehicle slid off the road and struck a tree.

Assisting on scene was the Dresden Fire Department and Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services. Trull was transported by a family member to Genesis Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Minor crash on Second Street

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a traffic crash at 7:43 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South Second Street.

Authorities said Tosha R. Crowthers, 30, of Coshocton was traveling south when she entered the center lane to turn left into the Dollar General parking lot. Crowthers failed to stop for oncoming traffic and was struck by a vehicle in the northbound land driven by Jeremy A. Brown, 41, of West Lafayette.

Crowthers was transported to Coshocton Regional Medical center for complaint type injuries. Brown was treated and released on scene. Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Coshocton Fire Department and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Museum hosting preschool program

COSHOCTON − A preschool program will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays Jan. 5 to 26 at the Johnson Humrickhouse Museum, 300 N. Whitewoman St.

Students will learn facts about homes and read the book "A House is a House for Me" by Mary Ann Hoberman. They will learn about different kids of homes peoples and animals can live in, build mini-homes and more. The program is for ages 3 to 5.

Coshocton Schools BOE having special session

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton City Schools Board of Education will meet in special session at 5 p.m. Jan. 4 at the administrative center, 1207 Cambridge Road. The purpose is to discuss options for renewal of the $900,000 emergency tax levy and timing for adopting a resolution of necessity. Possible action might be taken.

Locals honored at MU

NEW CONCORD − Locals named to the fall semester dean's list at Muskingum University are Jaxon Rinkes of Coshocton; Ethan Miller of Fresno; Hallie Reed, Kolby Masloski and Dalton Patterson of West Lafayette; and Ethan Guilliams and Kailyn Shalosky of Warsaw.

Kimberly Stevens of Walhonding was named to the academic merit list. Caleb Braxton of Coshocton was named to the president's list.

KoC having free throw contest

DRESDEN − The Dresden Knights of Columbus chapter is holding its annual free throw championship at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at the Tri-Valley Community Fitness Center, 35 E. 10th St., Dresden. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.
