Junior Winston Lerch was one of 13 players chosen to the Division 1 first team. Two other Division 1 players made the all-division Super Team.

Brighton graduate Davis Codd was a first-teamer in Division 1 in 2019 and made the Super Team last season.

Lerch earned Livingston County Golfer of the Year after averaging 75.82 for 18 holes, the sixth-lowest mark at Brighton since 2005.

He also averaged 36.5 for nine holes, which ranks second for the Bulldogs in that time frame. He shot a school-record 32 at Fox Hills.

Lerch, who received all-state honorable mention last season, placed in the top six in seven tournaments. He shot in the 80s only once in 12 18-hole rounds.

“A regular summer day for him is tournament golf in the morning, hockey tryouts in the afternoon and maybe more practice in the evening for golf to get ready for the next day’s tournament,” Brighton coach James Dewling said. “He’s playing at least one tournament a week. I’m proud of him and what he gives to everything. We enjoy having multi-sport athletes on the golf team. He excels doing it.”

Brighton junior Andrew Daily received honorable mention after tying for second in the state tournament with rounds of 71 and 73.
