Richwoods girls wrestler Kyley Bair was voted as the Journal Star athlete of the week.

Bair earned 39 percent of the 37,843 votes, beating out Metamora Co-op swimmer Porter Hoffman (28 percent). The full results are below.

The junior placed first at the Batavia Tournament on Saturday. Bair went 3-0 in her 100-pound bouts, pinning all three opponents and not allowing a single point. She's 9-0 this season and has only given up six points the entire season. The 10-member Knights girls squad is scheduled to host a quad meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Ella Lune, Brimfield girls basketball

Lune posted a career-high 32 points as Class 1A’s top-ranked team finished second at the Kewanee MLK Tournament this past Saturday. She hit four 3-pointers, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists in a 75-22 win over the hosts. The Eastern Illinois signee scored 17 points with five rebounds, five assists and five blocks in Friday’s 69-55 loss to Class 3A No. 1 Geneseo. The all-tournament team selection went for 14 points and four rebounds in a 64-25 win over Orion last Saturday.

Mya Wardle, Peoria Notre Dame girls basketball

Wardle scored a game-high 16 points as PND went on the road and knocked off previously unbeaten and unanimous Class 2A No. 1 Winnebago, 57-45 this past Saturday. The 5-foot-8 sophomore guard hit two early 3-pointers as the Irish, ranked No. 6 in Class 3A, raced out to a 16-2 lead. She added three assists and three steals for PND, which will face Class 1A No. 1 Brimfield on Saturday.

Jamauri Winfrey, Richwoods boys basketball

The senior helped Richwoods extend its win streak to seven with back-to-back home wins last week. He scored 22 points as the Knights posted a 63-39 win over Danville this past Friday. The 6-foot-2 senior forward started his week a 24-point output in last Tuesday's 79-70 victory against Normal West. Richwoods (11-6, 3-2 in Big 12 Conference) heads to Manual (7-7, 2-1) on Friday.

Lane Thomann, Deer Creek-Mackinaw boys basketball

Thomann helped Dee-Mack claim this year’s edition of the Route 9 rivalry with a 63-51 win over Tremont last Friday. The 6-foot-3 senior shooting guard scored 25 points. Thomann is coming off a program-record 46 points, which broke the previous mark set by Dalton Whitaker (44 points) in 1964. He added 18 rebounds in the record-setting effort. Unfortunately, the Illinois-Springfield recruit will miss the rest of the season with a broken wrist.

Porter Hoffman, Metamora co-op boys swimming and diving

The Roanoke-Benson senior picked up a pair of victories in last Saturday’s quad meet as Metamora (173 points) finished runner-up to winner Champaign Centennial (211 points). Hoffman won the 100-yard freestyle in :51.44, swimming 50-yard splits of :24.85 and :26.59. He then teamed with Landon Porch, Michael Meinert and Evan Nelson to win the 200-yard freestyle relay, edging Centennial, 1:34.07 to 1:34.48.
