Brinckerhoff Ave shooting victim in critical condition, suffered numerous gunshot wounds

The Utica Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting that took place on Brinckerhoff Avenue that left a man in critical condition, authorities said in a statement.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of Brinckerhoff Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Saturday in regards to a gunshot victim.

The man was found lying on the sidewalk, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to his lower extremities, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was immediately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and ultimately a Syracuse area hospital due to the severity of the injuries.

Police said the man remains in critical condition.
