Great musicians are feted on theater stages this week.

Westport Playhouse offers a new look at the revue of “Fats” Waller songs, “Ain’t Misbehavin.’” Local jazz musicians play songs associated with Nat “King” Cole on the Seven Angels stage in Waterbury. There’s also “TINA, The Tina Turner Musical” at The Bushnell and the court musicians of “A Winter’s Tale” at Hartford Stage.

“The Winter’s Tale” is set in Bohemia, at least the fictional Bohemia created by William Shakespeare. The real Bohemia in the Czech Republic is referenced in Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s “Beethoven by the Rivers” concert, thanks to the country’s longest river, the Vltava.

The connection between music and rivers is fuller than that: The sibling pop trio Girl Named Tom covered both Joni Mitchell’s “River” and The Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road” when the group competed on “The Voice” in 2021. They perform this week at UConn’s Jorgensen Center.

Here are some of the top things to do and see this week in Connecticut arts.

‘Ain’t Misbehavin’’ Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, Westport

“Fats” Waller wrote some of the enduring jazz standards of the 20th century, including “Honeysuckle Rose” and “Keepin’ Out of Mischief Now.” The hit 1970s Broadway revue named after another of his timeless tunes, “Ain’t Misbehavin’” was rethought for a production in the Berkshires last year and now comes to Westport Country Playhouse April 11-29. Performances are Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. $40-$75. westportplayhouse.org.

Chicago Mohegan Sun Arena, 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd. Uncasville

This is Chicago the band, not the Broadway musical, and it’s been around longer. Formed as Chicago Transit Authority in 1967, remarkably the band still boasts three founding members: keyboardist/vocalist Robert Lamm and horn players Lee Loughnane and James Pankow. April 14 at 7:30 p.m. $39.50-$79.50. mohegansun.com.

The Iron Maidens Wall Street Theater, 71 Wall St., Norwalk

All-female tributes to all-male classic rock acts are legion, and they all have cool funny names. There are the Magical Mystery Girls (The Beatles), Chick Jagger (The Rolling Stones), Hell’s Belles (AC/DC) and Lez Zeppelin to name a few. Since 2001, there’s been The Iron Maidens, a female foursome covering all phases of the indestructible British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Based in California, The Iron Maidens are on a national tour that brings them to Norwalk’s Wall Street Theater on April 14 at 8 p.m. $20-$45. wallstreettheater.com.

Sean Paul Foxwoods Resort Casino, 350 Trolley Line Blvd., Mashantucket.

The Jamaican dancehall rapper “gets busy” (to paraphrase his biggest hit) and brings his “Scorcha Tour” to Foxwoods’ Premier Theater on April 14 at 8 p.m. The show is technically sold out but a lot of “verified resale” seats are being offered at between $82 and $265. foxwoods.com.

Girl Named Tom Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, 2132 Hillside Road, Storrs

The Girl Named Tom was the season 21 winner of “The Voice,” the first trio (or group at all) to win that competition. They’re known for clever covers of songs like “Dust in the Wind” and “Baby Now That I’ve Found You” but also perform their own original songs. April 14 at 8 p.m. $15-$42. jorgensen.uconn.edu.

Hartford Symphony Orchestra The Bushnell, 160 Capitol Ave., Hartford

The second Hartford Symphony Orchestra Masterworks concert of this month is “Beethoven by the Rivers.” The Beethoven is his “Pastorale,” and the rivers are the longest river in Bohemia — as musicalized in Bedrich Smetana’s “Vltava (The Moldau)” — and the second longest river in China, honored in the “Yellow River” concerto, derived by Chinese composers Yin Chengzong, Chu Wanghua, Sheng Linhongm, Shi Shucheng, Xu Feishung and Liu Zhang from an earlier cantata by Xian Xinghai. Pianist Jie Chen is the guest soloist, and Carolyn Kuan conducts. April 14-16. Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday at 3 p.m. $38-$73. hartfordsymphony.org.

Timmy Maia and the Harold Zinno Jazz Orchestra Seven Angels Theatre, 1 Plank Road, Waterbury

Local jazz greats vocalist Timmy Maia and trumpeter/bandleader Harold Zinno team up for a tribute to the legendary Nat “King” Cole on the theater stage at Seven Angels in Waterbury. Singer/songwriter Briana Maia is also on the bill. April 15 at 8 p.m. $30. 7atheatre.org.

‘Napoleon Dynamite’ Live Warner Theatre, 68 Main St., Torrington

Three cast members from the 2004 cult classic “Napoleon Dynamite” — Efran Ramirez (who played Pedro), Jon Gries (Uncle Rico) and Napoleon himself, Jon Heder (who also directed and co-wrote the screenplay) — will screen and discuss this political activist statement landmark (“Vote for Pedro”) April 15 at 8 p.m. in the Warner Theatre’s Oneglia Auditorium in Torrington. The theater is advising “BYOT (Bring Your Own Tots).” That means Tater Tots, not small children. $37-$70. warnertheatre.org.

‘Fiddler on the Roof’ Palace Theater, 100 East Main St., Waterbury

Director Bart Sher’s 2016 Lincoln Center production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” the show’s fifth Broadway revival since it originally debuted in 1964, has been touring since 2018 (with a couple of years off due to COVID). The tour played The Bushnell in 2018, Shubert Theatre New Haven in 2021 and now comes to the Waterbury Palace for three performances April 15-16: Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m. “Traditionnnn! Tradition! … Tradition!” $45-$85. palacetheaterct.org.
