Bringing boozy breakfasts to Lubbock: Toasted Yolk Cafe announces first location

Boasting boozy breakfasts, brunches and lunches, this upcoming Houston-based restaurant franchise has announced its first Lubbock location.

The Toasted Yolk Café, popular for their versions of eggs Benedict, will open at 6807 Milwaukee Ave., which was previously Panera. They plan to open in the fall.

"This marks Toasted Yolk’s first Lubbock location and the boozy-breakfast haunt is committed to their unwavering quality of food, farm-to-table freshness, unmatched service and delicious craft cocktails," said Mark Murray, owner and operator of the Lubbock location.

The café franchise started in 2010 and has since expanded across Texas, with upcoming locations as far as Kentucky and Ohio.

"Its menus are tailored to meals enjoyed throughout the day, allowing diners to enjoy egg specialties and spiked cold brew in the morning, boozy cocktails and brisket tacos at brunch, and a variety of delicious salads, sandwiches and soups at lunch," Murray said. "Toasted Yolk is an elevated, yet down-home breakfast spot for the modern-day family."

The breakfast menu features various items, including seasonal crepes, omelettes, egg specialty plates, Granola Apple French Toast, five Arnolds, and breakfast bowls. For lunch, guests can choose from sandwiches, salads, soups or combinations.

As for drinks, the menu includes coffee, wine, brunch classics, and beer.

"(This is) a place where mom can sip a mimosa, dad can watch kick-off at noon with a beer and the kids can enjoy familiar favorites like buttermilk pancakes or an order of hand-breaded chicken tenders," Murray said.
