Bristol TN police suspended during sexual harassment probe

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — Multiple Bristol, Tennessee police officers are suspended with pay as the Bristol Tennessee Police Department (BTPD) investigates allegations of possible sexual harassment involving officers and members of BTPD’s adult volunteer auxiliary unit.

Bristol Director of Community Relations Jon Luttrell provided few additional details in response to News Channel 11’s questions about the matter.

He wrote that an internal investigation began on Jan. 29 and that “there have been no allegations of any conduct that is criminal in nature.” Luttrell also mentioned that “personnel involved have been placed on paid administrative leave,” indicating multiple people.

Citing “the integrity of the ongoing investigation and pending its outcome,” Luttrell said the city wasn’t providing any more details or comment.
