Bristol, Virginia temporarily closes street for water main repairs

BRISTOL, Va (WJHL) – After various weather events and shifts in temperatures, the City of Bristol, Virginia said multiple water main breaks have been reported in the last week.

Scott Street, between Lee Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, has experienced a series of water main breaks and will be closed temporarily due to repair work, city officials announced Friday.

The anticipation is that the road will be closed for about four weeks while Bristol, Virginia Utility (BVU) is working on the repairs. Weather will also play a factor in the amount of time it takes to get the work done. While the road is closed, detours will be available for drivers to take.
