Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has said she hopes new judge Bruno Tonioli will take the heat away from her outfits this year.

Holden has previously received Ofcom complaints about some of her clothing choices on the ITV talent show, with over 200 people in 2020 suggesting that her dress put her at risk of a wardrobe malfunction.

Speaking ahead of the new series, Amanda said: "We're leaving sequins to Bruno this year.

"This is the thing we've got the problem with - everyone talks about my tits and these two [Simon and Bruno] all the time, with [Simon's] shirts undone and [Bruno] stripping off, I'm like, no Ofcom complaints about me this year please."

Tonioli then backed up his new colleague, saying he doesn't understand why people complain about her outfits on the show.

"If you've got it, flaunt it," Tonioli said. "I don't understand this complaining - it's a beautiful woman, they're beautiful women. What is the problem?"

"It's nothing," Amanda added. "People with too much time on their hands, Bruno."

Tonioli was announced as BGT's newest judge earlier this year after David Walliams stepped down from the role.

Of course, Tonioli was previously a judge on rival competition show Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2019. Earlier this week, Tonioli's new boss Simon Cowell called Strictly's judging format "boring" compared to BGT's and its buzzers.

"When you're doing Strictly, all you've got is a bat or something, right? That's boring. This is a punctuation mark, which is the red buzzer. He was like a kid having these things to press while he was judging." he told The Sun.

"I think he found that having those, the whole process was easier. I reckon he probably wished he had a red buzzer on Strictly. There's a few celebrities he would have liked to have buzzed off, I bet."

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
