Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden responds to 'fix' claims

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has responded to claims the show is a "fix".
The talent reality TV programme recently featured 12-year-old aspiring singer Olivia Lynes, who got the Golden Buzzer for her performance of 'Defying Gravity' from the musical Wicked.
Following Olivia's audition, some viewers took to social media to point out that Holden had previously met the girl and invited her to audition for the show.

Holden, who has been on the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent since 2007, reacted to the backlash after she pressed the buzzer for Olivia.
"So I didn't know if I was allowed to press it for her because I'd actually met her the day before as part of our golden moments and encouraged her to come down and audition," the judge told Mail Online.
Despite acknowledging she had met Olivia before, Holden insisted she had no idea the girl had such a beautiful voice.
"But when I met her I had no idea if she could sing, and then was absolutely blown away by her performance," she continued. "And it's just so typical of what I would press my buzzer for. I was almost like: 'Oh my god. It's going to have to be this because I love it. She is amazing.'"

As for Olivia, she was understandably over the moon.
"I can't remember everything [Holden] said because I was so excited," the girl said following her show-stopping rendition. I ran up to her and hugged her really tightly. When she asked if I would audition on BGT I said of course I would!"
