Britain's Got Talent's Ashley Banjo to mark one year since Diversity's BLM routine in new show

Britain's Got Talent judge Ashley Banjo is set to lead a new documentary about Black British history on ITV.
Last summer, Ashley and his dance group Diversity performed a powerful routine in support of the Black Lives Matter movement on Britain's Got Talent.
The documentary, titled Ashley Banjo: Britain in Black and White, will be part of ITV's programming for Black History Month in October. Other documentaries included in the coverage include Charlene White: Empire's Child and will.i.am: The Blackprint.

Speaking about the upcoming shows, ITV Commissioning Editor Satmohan Panesar said: "Building on last year's celebrations, Black History Month returns to ITV this October. Featuring a range of engaging documentaries from some of our highest-profile talent.
"Through their personal stories, the films will explore what it means to be black in Britain today. We're also really pleased that Sorry, I Didn't Know is returning, which is a brilliant and entertaining showcase of diverse talent."
Diversity's BGT routine was one of the most complained-about TV moments in Ofcom history, but the regulator didn't investigate the performance and called the group's dance "a call for social unity".

Ashley Banjo: Britain in Black and White will see Ashley reflect on the impact of the dance routine one year on, while also exploring Black British history.
Specifically, Ashley will look into the Black civil rights movement in the UK, speaking to trailblazers from modern times and learning how they stood up for equality.
The programme will also see Ashley look back on his personal journey, speaking about how race and racism have impacted his life, and sharing the experiences of his friends and family.
Ashley Banjo: Britain in Black and White will air on ITV.
