A Facebook appeal was launched after a British man was found wandering the streets of Egypt with no memory.

The man was found barefoot in the beach town of Hurghada on Friday and images of him were posted on Facebook.

He was said to be suffering from amnesia when he was discovered.

Facebook user Carmen Edmunds posted an image of the mystery man on the site with the message: “Does anyone know this man he’s definitely English.

“My friend in Hurghada in Egypt found him wondering the streets, he seems to have lost his memory, he doesn’t know who he is or where he’s from.

“Please can everybody post this on to their Facebook and let’s find his family.”

The post was shared thousands of times on Facebook.

Another user, Hassan Mohsen posted more images of the man and shared a copy of his passport. The man was identified as a 35-year-old from Leamington Spa.

It appeared that the situation was resolved, because Mr Mohsen later wrote: “Thanks friends for your care.

“I met him and I know where he living now, and his dad with him at Hurghada.”
