British royals join Greek independence celebrations

Prince Charles, with watery eyes, whose father Prince Philip was born in Corfu as part of the Greek royal family, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, French Defence Minister Florence Parly, and Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier dedicated to fallen soldiers, at Parliament, as their national anthems played, before the parade commenced.

British heir to the throne, Prince Charles and his wife, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, met with Greece's president and prime minister on Thursday (March 25) during an official two day visit to mark the 200 years since Greece won its independence from the Ottoman Empire with the help of Britain and other foreign powers.
