According to Good Morning America, Griner spoke to a reporter and held up two pictures of her wife.
ABC News producer Tanya Stukalova, who spoke to the basketball star from behind bars inside of a Russian courtroom, asked Griner if she wanted to say anything to Cherelle, before Brittney wished her wife “good luck on the bar exam.”
While appearing behind bars, the basketball star added that she has “no complaints.”
While appearing in the courtroom, Brittney wore a sweatshirt with “Black Lives Are Loved” written on it.
Griner also shared that she’s “just waiting patiently” for her case to be resolved.
The WNBA star was in court Tuesday for her drug case, which is expected to wrap up in August, NPR reports. Brittney was expected to testify in court, however, her legal team requested more time to prepare.
As Blavity previously reported, Brittney was arrested after airport authorities in Russia allegedly found vape cartridges containing hash oil in her luggage. According to Reuters, Brittney’s legal team said the basketball player used medical cannabis to help with her injuries, and clarified that she wasn’t using the substance recreationally.
Griner is facing up to 10 years in prison if convicted on drug charges.
