Here’s how Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, MarshWalk are dealing with Idalia

With Hurricane Idalia nearing the Myrtle Beach area, several popular spots have announced their plans for Thursday, Aug. 31.

Broadway at the Beach will allow individual vendors to decide whether they open tomorrow. The shopping and entertainment center made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Shops were open at Broadway at the Beach Aug. 30, although the outdoor rides and several kiosks appeared closed. Despite a light rain after noon, members of the public walked around the complex shopping like normal.

Parker Hall is the general manager at The Hangout, a restaurant and concert venue at Broadway at the Beach, and he said the eatery plans to be opened per regular hours Thursday, Aug. 31.

The Hangout is Open every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to the restaurant’s website. Broadway at the Beach is located at 1325 Celebrity Circle in Myrtle Beach. Marketing Director for Broadway at the Beach Melissa Armstrong was not available for comment.

Other shopping areas are taking a similar approach for Hurricane Idalia. Barefoot Landing at 4898 Highway 17 South in North Myrtle Beach also announced on Facebook that shops would be opened per their own discretion. Barefoot Landing Assistant General Manager Kathy Hughes did not respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, several restaurants on The MarshWalk of Murrells Inlet announced they had changed their schedules for Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Thursday at 4 p.m. Bovine’s Restaurant closed today but will open at 4 p.m. Thursday. Dead Dog Saloon announced they would open at 11 a.m. Thursday instead of 8 a.m. Wahoo’s Fish House closed early Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m and will open at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31.
