The classic breakfast spot that Brockton has known and loved for its famous hash bomb and crème brulée French toast – is introducing a new menu of rice and quinoa bowls and salads and sides with a twist. The award-winning restaurant JJ's Caffe opened after being closed for two years due to the pandemic. Owner Justino "JJ" Fernandes went into retirement, and his sons Nicholas and Nelson Fernandes took over and revamped the restaurant with a new business model.

Brockton teens indicted in February shooting of Fabio Andrade-Monteiro
The two Brockton teenagers charged in the February fatal shooting of Fabio Andrade-Monteiro, 22, were indicted by a Plymouth County grand jury on July 1, the district attorney’s office said. Tashawn Brown, 17, and Jeremy Depina, 15, were charged with one count each of murder, according to the statement from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office.

A 'Big Brother' contestant owns Bridgewater art store. Here's how he plans to win
A new 'HouseGuest' on the 24th season of CBS's "Big Brother" has ties to Bridewater. Matt Turner, 23, moved into the house on Wednesday. Born in North Attleboro, Turner resides in the New Bedford area with his girlfriend, Megan Belmote. The two own an art store called "The Rug Shack" in Bridgewater. Turner said his plan is to go into the house as a competition beast.

Brockton High grad with three businesses says 'anyone can be a millionaire'
Like many people, Kyanna Cardoso fantasized about becoming a millionaire every day, and then one night, she decided to start that journey and become a business owner. “I remember being eight months pregnant, laying down with my boyfriend talking about how we would become rich. He suggested I brainstorm seven businesses and write them down since most millionaires have several streams of income. After I wrote them down on paper, he told me to start two of the businesses now,” Cardoso said.

Bridgewater, Hull and Braintree have players selected in 2022 NHL Draft
Just because Massachusetts didn't have any names called in the first round of the NHL Draft, that doesn't mean local residents didn't put their stamp on the remaining six rounds. Nine Massachusetts-bred players were selected, three of whom have South Shore roots. Cameron Lund, of Bridgewater, an 18-year-old Northeastern commit didn't have to wait very long into the second round to hear his name called. Lund was drafted: Round 2, Pick 2 (No. 34 overall) to the San Jose Sharks.
