Brody Jenner set the story straight about his ex Kaitlynn Carter and Miley Cyrus
Brody Jenner has taken to Instagram to defend his ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter, after she was pictured kissing Miley Cyrus one day after Miley's split with Liam Hemsworth was announced.
Brody and Kaitlynn split in August after 6 years together, following which it was revealed that their marriage in 2018 wasn't technically official, as the couple never legalised their Bali ceremony in the US.
After the pictures of Kaitlynn and Miley together were published, Brody was publicly roasted by Miley after he appeared to throw shade at the 2 women in a comment on Instagram. However, on Saturday he posted a lengthy note defending his ex and wishing her future "happiness".
"There is far too much negativity being directed at someone who I love and care about very much. I feel the need to set the story straight. Kaitlynn and I have been best friends for 6 years, and we continue to be.
"We, like many others before us and many after us, grew in different directions over those same 6 years. Kaitlynn is a wonderful person, beautiful and fun to be with, always a positive force in my life.
"We decided the best move for both of us was to keep our love for each other strong but move forward separately with our lives.
"I respect Kaitlynn and care deeply about her. She deserves to be able to move forward in her life with respect and happiness."

Brody's post comes after his Hills co-star, Ashley Wahler told Access Hollywood that the former couples used to double date.
"I have had a lot of conversations with Kaitlynn during the season, and her, Miley, Liam and Brody would always hang out together," she said. "So, I know they have all been friends for a long time."
However, following Brody's post, it certainly looks like there are no hard feelings between him and Kaitlynn after she commented with a red heart emoji.
Now, if only we could show that level of maturity with our exes.
