Broken Yolk, known around the Marquette University campus as "Bro Yo," has closed. It is the third campus eatery with plans to close or move since the spring semester ended.

Marquette owns the building Broken Yolk was in at 1617 W. Wells St. and confirmed that the restaurant was closing. A note on the door says the restaurant closed on May 21 — the day after Marquette's spring commencement ceremonies.

"Thank you to the Marquette community and our neighbors for allowing us to be a part of your lives over the past 15 years. However, Father Time has made me a visit and said it was time for me to hang up my spatula and working utensils," the note says.

According to the Marquette Wire, Broken Yolk was housed in The Marq building, 2040 W. Wisconsin Ave., from 2008 until 2015. It opened the second location on Wells Street in 2012.

The restaurant's phone number has been disconnected. They did not immediately respond to a Facebook message from the Journal Sentinel seeking more information.

Sobelman's also closed its Marquette campus location on May 21 at 1601 W. Wells St. Two blocks east, Tangled Noodles and More, 1404 W. Wells St., is moving off campus to Eleven25 at Pabst, 1125 N. Ninth St. Owner Charlie Luo told the Journal Sentinel that he wanted to downsize with the decline of sit-down business and the popularity of third-party delivery options. It will close its Marquette campus location in June.
