Bronson boys bowl to second at Trojan invite

Flint-Kearsley, one of the favorite to win a state championship this season in Division 2, picked up the victory over Bronson in the finals. Kearsley out-pinned Bronson 1,479 - 1,187 to win the tournament title.

Kearsley won both baker games, 212-198 and 229-169. They also picked up the edge in singles action at 1,038 - 820.

Finishing in third place was Niles. The Vikings beat Jonesville in the consolation finals at 1,278 - 1,210. Niles won the first baker 207-186 and singles action at 901-826. Jonesville won the second baker game at 198-170.

Coldwater, Sturgis, Marshall, Battle Creek Pennfield, Adrian Madison, Portage Northern and Plainwell also competed at the event. Sturgis, Bronson and Jonesville each had a second team as well.

Finishing on the All-Tournament team was Nic Cranson of Bronson, Bowie Hammond of Kearsley, Brayden Smoker of Sturgis, Jordan Sneed of Marshall and Chase Rubley of Coldwater.

Kearsley finished first in qualifying, knocking down 3,365 total pins in two singles and eight baker games. Bronson was second (3,054) and Niles and Jonesville finished in the top four as well.
