🌱 Bronx Highway Sign Causes Twitter Battle + White Castle Closed

Happy Thursday, people of Queens! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in town today.

First, today's weather:

Sun mixing with clouds; cold. High: 31 Low: 27.

Here are the top three stories today in Queens:

  1. A typo on a Bronx highway sign sparked a battle of the boroughs between two borough presidents. On Wednesday, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson posted a photo on Twitter of a newly installed highway sign that reads "Welcome to the Bronx" and below that "Boro Pres Donovan Richards," who is Borough President of Queens. From there, the light-hearted exchange took off as Richards responded, stating that Queens is "by far the best borough in NYC." (NBC New York)

  2. White Castle permanently closed its Jackson Heights location on Wednesday, after being in operation at that site since 1935. Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle, did not give a reason for the restaurant's closure, however, all the employees at the Jackson Heights location have been offered positions at other locations. The Jackson Heights restaurant, located at 88-08 Northern Blvd., is the only White Castle location in Queens that is closing. (Jackson Heights Post)

  3. Police are continuing to look for a Queens man who has been missing for over a month. 39-year-old Trevor Wintz has been missing since Dec. 14 and was last seen around 7:00 a.m. inside his Queens Village home, located on 214th Place, near 93rd Avenue, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black hat, blue jeans, and sneakers. He is described as standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing around 210 lbs., with brown eyes. (WPIX 11 New York)
