The live-in boyfriend of a woman found dead with slash wounds inside their Bronx apartment has been charged with her murder, police said Saturday.

Kelvin Diaz, 31, was apprehended moments after his 29-year-old girlfriend was found dead in the 14th-floor unit of the Park Lane Apartments in Unionport around 9:25 p.m. Friday, cops said.

His girlfriend was repeatedly slashed during an apparent domestic dispute and died at the scene, cops said. Her name was not immediately released as police track down family members.

Responding officers recovered a bloody knife in the apartment, police said.

Diaz and his girlfriend had been living together for some time in the Lafayette Ave. apartment near Pugsley Ave., and were considered common-law spouses, police said.

Diaz was charged with murder, manslaughter and weapons possession. His arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending Saturday.
