Bronx Street Renaming Honors Bishop Ceacer Gooding

Bishop Gooding and his wife founded Miracle Revival Center Church in Harlem in 1969.

DICK BRENNAN: A street renaming ceremony in the Bronx honoring a beloved bishop. The corner of Macombs Road at Mount Eden Avenue will now be known as Bishop Ceacer Gooding Road.

Bishop Gooding, along with his wife, evangelist Josephine Gooding, founded Miracle Revival Center Church in Harlem in 1969. A year later, the church moved to its current location on Macombs Road in the Bronx, where the Bishop served for more than four decades.

[? JAY GOODING, SR: ?] This community was everything to my father. This his legacy here for us, so that my father's name will forever be mentioned. When you mention Macombs Road and Mount Eden Avenue, Bishop Ceacer Gooding's name will forever be mentioned.

DICK BRENNAN: And he also served his country in the US Army and was later employed by the US Postal Service.
