Basketball Wives star Brooke Bailey remembers her daughter, who died in a car accident, on the one-year anniversary of her death. Kayla was 25-years-old.

“September 25, 2023, makes 1 year that you have not physically been here with us,” Bailey wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “I feel your strength within me every day. Pushing me to not just exist in this world and to continue to live. It’s been my hardest challenge not to give up.”

Bailey created KNB Life, a nonprofit organization, to honor her daughter’s memory. Its goal is to provide underprivileged individuals with resources and opportunities to launch a career in the beauty industry. The organization offers scholarships to cover the cost of beauty trade school, as well as mentorship.

Kayla was a certified hair stylist working in Memphis, according to Essence.

“The conversations we had discussing what you wanted for me. I’ve done,” Bailey added. “I miss you so much. Every decision I make I think of you because you would give me your opinion whether I wanted to hear it or not lol … I’m so appreciative to have experienced your beauty from the inside out.”

Bailey and her daughter regularly took to social media to share their bond, from birthdays to Mother’s days. In 2022, Kayla called her mother her “ride or die”’ for life and called on her followers to wish her a happy Mother’s Day in a celebratory Instagram post.

Bailey is also a mother to two boys, one born in 1998 and the other born in 2004, according to Sportskeeda.
