Brooke Shields will appear in Naples next year for a fundraiser to benefit mental health.

The actress, model, author and entrepreneur will headline Sound Minds, a fundraiser for David Lawrence Centers, on Thursday, March 21.

Here's what to know.

When, where is the event, what's the cost

The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. and will be at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón, 2600 Tiburon Drive, Naples. Tickets begin at $400 and include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and admission to the main program.

A $1,500-per-person VIIP experience offers an opportunity to meet Shields and enjoy a Ritz-curated dinner.

Who benefits from fundraiser

Money raised helps with the growing demand and cost for mental health and substance use services in Collier County. David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health is the county’s only comprehensive, behavioral health provider.

Sound Minds is the not-for-profit's signature event, Sound Minds that helps raise "critical funding intended to provide access to care for children, families, and adults," the Centers' news release said.

David Lawrence annually works with 9,000 children, adolescents and adults, and logs at least 314,000 treatment sessions.

Brooke Shields, from child model to advocate

People who are their late 50s literally watched Shields grow up their entire lives. Shields, now 58, began as a child model at 11 months old before co-starring in movies by age 9 in "Sweet Baby" in 1978. Other films included "Blue Lagoon" (1980) and "Endless Love" (1981).

She's considered the "Face of the '80s," modeling in print and TV ads for Calvin Klein Jeans and appearing on numerous magazine covers that made her one of the most recognizable people in the world for that decade.

Brookes later attended Princeton University, graduating in 1987. She went on to appear in numerous television shows over the next few decades, including cameos in "Friends" and starring in her own sitcom, "Suddenly Susan" on NBC from 1996-2000.

She later became an advocate for women suffering from postpartum depression, writing about her struggle in a book and appearing on TV talk shows.

Earlier this year, Shields was the subject of a documentary about her life, "Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields." Shields also will appear in an upcoming Netflix film, "Mother of the Bride," which also co-stars Benjamin Bratt.
