Brookfield Central's Kayla Budish, Muskego's Anna Sikorski go back-to-back on girls soccer coaches all-state team
There were only two repeat first-team selections on the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association girls all-state team and both call southeast Wisconsin home.
Brookfield Central senior Kayla Budish and Muskego sophomore Anna Sikorski made the cut for the second straight year. They were joined on the first team by three other Milwaukee-area players — Waterford junior Taylor Gordon, New Berlin Eisenhower senior Lauren Hernandez and Whitefish Bay junior Lucia Englund.
Oregon senior Zoey Pagels, who led the Panthers to the Division 2 championship and the No. 1 ranking in the nation, was named the state player of the year.
Budish, who will play at Purdue, led Central to the Greater Metro Conference title and a postseason run that ended in the sectional final in Division 2.
Sikorski led Muskego to the Division 1 championship.
