Brooklyn 1-year-old girl’s death ruled a homicide; toddler suffered head trauma, broken thigh bones

A 1-year-old Brooklyn girl who died after suffering head trauma and broken bones was the victim of a homicide, police said Thursday.

The Crown Heights toddler died Wednesday at Maimonides Medical Center of complications from head trauma, police said. She also had two broken femur, or thigh, bones, said cops.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police said the family has a history with the Administration for Children’s Services.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was in the care of her parents at the time of the incident, police said.

Officers responding to a 911 call at 6:43 p.m. last Friday found the child unconscious inside her family’s apartment on St. Mark’s Ave. near Nostrand Ave.

Medics rushed her in critical condition to Kings County Hospital. She was later transferred to Maimonides.
