Brooklyn assassin in NYCHA uniform shoots rival after knocking on victim’s door, NYPD says

A gunman wearing a New York City Housing Authority jumpsuit blasted a Brooklyn man in the chest Saturday during an early-morning visit to the victim’s home, cops said.

The 24-year-old victim was inside an apartment at NYCHA’s Unity Plaza Houses on Dumont Ave. near Hinsdale St. in East New York around 3 a.m. when there was a knock at the door, police were told.

When the victim went to answer the door, a man wearing the uniform of a Housing Authority worker was in the hallway.

The suspect pulled a gun, shot the victim in the chest, and ran off.

EMS rushed the victim to Brookdale University Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Saturday.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives on Saturday were trying to determine why the victim was targeted, cops said.
