Streets in New York’s Brooklyn borough resembled waterways on September 1 as remnants of Hurricane Ida brought severe flooding.

This footage by John Miller shows vehicles driving through deep floodwaters. People can also be seen wading through the water.

Mayor Bill de Blasio issued a state of emergency for New York City, adding that at least 5,300 customers were left without power.
