Brooklyn woman throttled, raped and robbed on Ingersoll Houses rooftop by acquaintance ‘Todd,’ police say

A Brooklyn woman’s Thursday night hangout turned terrifying when she was choked, raped and robbed on a public housing building rooftop by a lanky man that she knew only as “Todd,” police said.

The 40-year-old victim told cops that she was familiar with the 27-year-old suspect and was hanging out with him on the roof of a building in the Ingersoll Houses on Monument Walk in Fort Greene about shortly after 12 a.m. on April 22.

Todd told the woman that he wanted to have sex with her, but when she turned him down, the suspect put her in a chokehold, knocking her unconscious, cops said. She woke up a short time later to find the rapist on top of her.

The suspect sexually assaulted her and ran off with $600 and a cellphone, police said. No arrests have been made.

The woman, who managed to get a picture of the suspect before he disappeared, suffered bruises and scratches to her neck and was taken to Interfaith Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Cops described the suspect as a dark-skinned man with short braided hair. He’s believed to be 5-foot-8, 120 pounds with a thin build and was last seen wearing a light green jacket and blue pajama pants.

Police released a photo of the suspect in the hopes someone recognize him. Anyone with information regarding this whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
