When Brooks & Dunn play their newly announced Paycom Center show this spring, it won't be their first rodeo at the Oklahoma City arena.

Or their "Last Rodeo" here, for that matter.

The Country Music Hall of Fame duo, who split up in 2010 but reunited a few years later, announced Monday morning their "Reboot Tour 2023," including a May 5 concert at Paycom Center.

They will be joined on tour by 2011 "American Idol" winner and country hitmaker Scotty McCreery.

When did Brooks & Dunn last play OKC?

The iconic pair — Louisiana native Kix Brooks and former Tulsan Ronnie Dunn — have played the downtown OKC venue on four previous occasions: Aug. 21, 2006; Sept. 9, 2007, with Alan Jackson; Aug. 17, 2008, with ZZ Top; and Aug. 20, 2010, on their "The Last Rodeo Tour."

After announcing in 2009 that they were ending their two-decade musical partnership and finishing their "Last Rodeo" trek in 2010, the duo reunited in 2014 alongside Oklahoma native Reba McEntire to play a successful Las Vegas residency that was extended more than once.

In 2019, Brooks & Dunn were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and released as a duo the album "Reboot," in which they revisited their biggest hits as collaborations with emerging country stars like Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Luke Combs and Kacey Musgraves.

Why does Ronnie Dunn consider Tulsa his hometown?

Born in Coleman, Texas, Dunn lived in Tulsa from 1974 to 1991 and considers it his hometown.

A 2003 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inductee, he got his big break in Tulsa in 1988, when he won the Marlboro National Talent Roundup. That caught the attention of fellow Oklahoman Tim DuBois, who ran Arista Nashville at the time and introduced Dunn to Brooks, setting the stage for country music history.
