Broomfield football coach Hubbard placed on administrative leave

Jan. 18—Broomfield High School sent an email to parents Monday that head football coach Blair Hubbard, who also teaches physical education at the school, was placed on administrative leave pending an unnamed investigation.

The email, which was forwarded to BoCoPreps.com and sent from principal Ginger Ramsey, reads:

"Dear Broomfield High School Families and Staff,

I am reaching out to you this afternoon to let you know about some information that will be in the news.

Broomfield High School physical education teacher and head football coach Blair Hubbard has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation. In recent days we notified Hubbard's classes and team of his absence.

While there is no further information we can share at this time, because it is a personnel matter, I want everyone to know that we believe in conducting a thorough investigation and providing due process for those involved. As a result, we ask for your patience and understanding as this work continues.

If anyone has any information they would like to share with investigators, please connect with me."

Last month, Hubbard led his football program to a Class 4A state championship, the school's first since 1984. He has been at the helm of the program since 2016.

Looking for further comment on the matter, athletic director Steve Shelton forwarded any additional comment to Boulder Valley School District Chief Administration Officer Randy Barber, citing a personnel issue. Barber was sent an email by BoCoPreps Wednesday evening and he offered no additional comment, though he confirmed Hubbard was first placed on administrative leave on Dec. 15.

The story was first reported by the Denver Post.
