Broughton Street shop serves up milkshakes, new Two Tides bar and other dining updates

Ask anyone why they love Savannah and one of the likely answers will be the food.

Every corner is bustling with dining and drinking spots that satisfy a variety of tastes. Lucky for locals and tourists alike, there's never a shortage of spots to visit, especially when new businesses are rolling in every month.

Locally Made Savannah

Life is better with sweets and so is Broughton Street. Locally Made Savannah, located just two doors down from The Ordinary Pub, opened March 16 just before this year's St. Patrick's Day festivities.

This is the newest Savannah venture for owners Tonya and Nick Rintye, who also own The Hipster Hound, a doggy daycare and boarding boutique in Savannah.

With a homegrown focus, the couple is showcasing local artisans and their work with items like accessories, plants and terrariums, clothing, housewares, and many more items you can purchase at the one-stop shop for all things local.

That includes a milkshake and soda bar where customers can enjoy milkshakes rolled in candy and topped with locally-made pastries. They also serve other locally-made food items.

Isreally Hummus

Owners Assaf Gleizner and Tegan Miller will be celebrating their new storefront with a grand opening party. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting with Savannah Mayor Van Johnson in attendance, music, drinks and all the hummus you can eat. They are also partnering with America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia to collect non-perishable canned goods for those in need.

Big Bon Bodega

Big Bon Bodega is serving up their Loaded 912 bagel sandwich again with all its scallion cream cheese, bacon, egg, cheddar and hashbrown goodness.

Two Tides Brewing

12 W 41st St.; twotidesbrewing.com

Two Tides, along with co-host Superbloom, is bringing back its De Soto Street Market with loads of vendors, drinks and music. Its extended taproom Smol bar, located at the downstairs portion of their building at 2421 De Soto Ave., will be open at noon.
