ELIOTT RODRIGUEZ: Broward County commissioners came together to address COVID-19 concerns as spring break season approaches. While thousands of visitors are expected in South Florida, Mayor Steve Geller says the city of Fort Lauderdale may soon be authorized to shut down locations with repeated health violations.

STEVE GELLER: I'm OK with saying we will try and focus on the offenders and try and close down the offenders and not do countywide curfew or even take the steps to authorize county administrator to do so, providing that the city of Fort Lauderdale actually agrees to shut down the offenders--

ELIOTT RODRIGUEZ: Meanwhile, Mayor Geller says, there will be an increased police presence at high-volume areas along with enforcement of social distancing and mask wearing.
