Brown County man accused of stalking woman for 17 years

BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Brown County man accused of stalking a woman for nearly two decades has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Charles Daniel Johnson, 51, was convicted of Stalking during a four-day trial in Brown County last week. The same jury who convicted him then gave him a punishment of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

A press release reveals, “Johnson had become fixated on a young woman and had been stalking her for over 17 years.”

Johnson was previously convicted of stalking this victim in 2009 but continued his actions once released from prison, despite multiple criminal trespass orders and protective orders.

He was also known for carrying around an engagement ring for the victim and would stop despite this woman saying she told him to leave her alone for years.
