CLEVELAND — Baker Mayfield arrived to his postgame news conference Sunday night with his left arm in a black sling and his non-throwing shoulder giving him trouble again.

“Feels like (expletive),” Mayfield said Sunday after the Browns fell 37-14 to the Arizona Cardinals at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Despite the injury, Mayfield said he “absolutely” expects to play Thursday night when the Browns (3-3) host the Denver Broncos (3-3) in a game Cleveland needs to win to keep its Super Bowl expectations from vanishing.

Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in the same shoulder Sept. 19 against the Houston Texans and has been wearing a harness ever since then.

The starting quarterback had his left shoulder pop out twice more after Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt hit him on a strip-sack with 6:26 left in the third quarter. Like in Week 2, Mayfield didn't miss a snap because of the injury.

“It dislocated again and then slipped out again on a non-contact play,” Mayfield said, “so just got to figure out a way to get better.”

Mayfield said the shoulder injury is “probably” worse this time than it was against the Texans.

“MRIs and stuff tomorrow,” he added, “so be able to find out more.”
