Browns COVID-19 outbreak: Linebackers Mack Wilson Sr., Tony Fields II test positive

Linebackers Mack Wilson Sr. and Tony Fields II joined the long list of Browns players who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week.

Wilson and Fields tested positive Friday and landed on the COVID-19 list, the team announced.

The Browns have 24 players out with COVID-19. Three coaches, including head coach Kevin Stefanski, have also tested positive for the virus.

Because of the outbreak, the NFL and NFL Players Association agreed Friday to move the game between the Browns (7-6) and Las Vegas Raiders (6-7) from Saturday to Monday at FirstEnergy Stadium. Cleveland needs to win to stay in the playoff hunt.

At the sport's most important position, the Browns are down to third-string quarterback Nick Mullens, and they plucked Kyle Lauletta off the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday.

Starting quarterback Baker Mayfield landed on the COVID-19 list Wednesday, and backup Case Keenum tested positive Thursday.

New COVID-19 protocols adopted Thursday by the NFL and NFL Players Association provide hope some vaccinated, asymptomatic Browns players could test off the list and play Monday.
