Browns Deshaun Watson speaks through song lyrics in Instagram story

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been mostly silent since he was traded from the Houston Texans. Not just about the now 24 civil lawsuits pending against him in Texas, but also about anything else.

Watson, though, posted in an Instagram story Tuesday evening lyrics from the song "Rich Off Pain" by Lil Baby, Lil Durk and Rod Wave.

"See, the blogs can't break me down, see, I'm the voice, I don't reply. But rumors y'all done heard, I'ma humbly deny, yeah, yeah," the song lyrics screenshot on the IG story read.

A 24th woman filed a lawsuit against Watson on Monday accusing him of sexual misconduct in 2020. It's the second time in a week that a new allegation has been brought against the new Browns quarterback.

"We are unable to respond to the new lawsuit at this time," a statement from Watson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, said Monday. "Our legal team has not had time to investigate this new filing and had not heard her name until today. Deshaun continues to deny he did anything inappropriate with any of the plaintiffs."

Also on Tuesday, a New York Times story dropped which stated the Texans "provided the venue" Watson used in seeking massage appointments from at least 66 women over 17 months.

The two most recent suits join 22 others which were filed against Watson in March and April 2021 alleging various forms of sexual misconduct. They are the first to be filed since the Browns acquired him from Houston in March and gave him a record guaranteed contract of $230 million over five years.

Two separate Houston area grand juries in March declined to indict Watson on criminal charges. They were presented with 10 combined complaints filed by women against the quarterback. The civil cases continue and are not going to trial until March 2023 at the earliest.

The 26-year-old Watson, who has not been arrested or charged, has consistently denied wrongdoing, mostly through Hardin. The only public statements he has made since he was traded to the Browns came in a March 25 press conference.

Watson has been present throughout the Browns' voluntary offseason training workouts this spring. He was also with the team on Monday at their charity golf outing in Rocky River.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was asked about the 24th suit on Monday, saying, "With that, we're just trying to be respectful of the process and let that take care of it."

The NFL has been investigating the allegations and could suspend Watson based upon its personal conduct policy. There's been no timetable given for a resolution of that investigation.
