Browns executive Glenn Cook will interview to become general manager of Titans
BEREA ― Glenn Cook has emerged as a general manager candidate for the second consecutive NFL offseason hiring cycle.
An assistant GM and vice president of player personnel for the Browns, Cook will interview with the Tennessee Titans for their GM vacancy, a person familiar with the situation confirmed Monday for the Beacon Journal.
The Titans fired GM Jon Robinson last month. NFL Network reported the Titans have identified six candidates for the job.
Last year, Cook interviewed for the GM jobs of the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. The Vikings hired former Browns VP of football operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, and the Bears hired Ryan Poles.
Coming off those GM interviews, Cook received a promotion from the Browns. He had held the VP of player personnel title with the organization since 2020.
In 2022, the Browns also hired Catherine Raîche as their new assistant general manager and VP of football operations.

The Browns hired Cook as their assistant director of scouting in 2016, when GM Andrew Berry was still Cleveland's VP of player personnel.
A former Green Bay Packers scout, Cook played linebacker at the University of Miami from 2004-08 and was a graduate assistant for the Hurricanes before landing his first NFL job with the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. At the time, Berry worked for the Colts as a pro scout.

Last year, Berry said he expected Cook to eventually become a GM.
“Glenn is super well-rounded," Berry said. "Pro, college [scouting] background. Does operations. Very bright. Outstanding people skills."

If the Titans were to hire Cook as their GM, the Browns would receive draft pick compensation.
An NFL rule adopted in November 2020 stipulates teams that have a minority coach or executive become a head coach or GM with another club will receive a third-round compensatory selection for two consecutive years.
