The Browns defeated the rival Baltimore Ravens 13-3 on Saturday.

With Cleveland's playoff chances barely above nonexistent, the team showed fight.

The Browns' hopes rested on the play of quarterback Deshaun Watson, who prevailed in his home debut after beginning his suspension-delayed season with two road games. Watson finished 18-of-28 passing for 161 yards and a touchdown without an interception for a rating of 91.5 in cold, snowy conditions.

The Ravens, who were tied atop the AFC North with the Cincinnati Bengals, were without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is recovering from a knee injury he suffered Dec. 4 in a win over the Denver Broncos. He did not play in the Ravens' win at Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Instead, backup Tyler Huntley, who only recently exited concussion protocols, was under center for the Ravens (9-5) against the Browns (6-8).

Here are scoring updates and analysis from the game:

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett helps Cleveland seal victory

The Browns should have led by more late in the game, but rookie Cade York had a field goal blocked and missed another on consecutive possessions.

After York's miss, the Ravens took possession at their 36-yard line and trailed by 10 points.

Then All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett delivered in the clutch. He sacked Huntley on first down and split a sack with rookie defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey on second down. On fourth-and-13, Huntley's pass was nearly picked off by cornerback Denzel Ward, but it fell incomplete for a turnover on downs with 3:06 left to play.

Browns defensive tackle Jordan Elliott blocks a Justin Tucker field goal

It's not common for the Browns to get the best of Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, but Cleveland gave the five-time All-Pro selection fits this time around.

With the Ravens trailing 13-3, Tucker attempted a 50-yard field goal, and Browns defensive tackle Jordan Elliott blocked the kick with his right forearm.

The clutch special-teams play gave the Browns possession at the Baltimore 48 with 14:02 left in the fourth quarter.

Cleveland Browns rookie Cade York misses back-to-back field goals

However, the Browns didn't take advantage of the block because York had his own mishap at the end of the ensuing series.

York fired a line-drive kick and missed a 38-yard field goal wide left with 10:49 left to play.

The Cleveland defense responded with a stop. Huntley's pass on fourth-and-4 from the Baltimore 46 was ruled incomplete, resulting in a turnover on downs with 9:30 remaining.

But once again, the Browns squandered a chance to extend their lead because a York kick didn't pan out. The fourth-round draft pick from Louisiana State University missed a 46-yard field goal wide right with 4:24 left.

Browns fail to take advantage of their second takeaway of third quarter

After the Browns went ahead by 10 points, the Ravens gave the ball right back to Cleveland.

On first-and-10 from the Baltimore 25, Ravens wide receiver Demarcus Robinson caught a pass but fumbled, and safety John Johnson III recovered at the Baltimore 40 with 2:04 left in the third quarter.

A holding penalty set up third-and-12, and the Ravens sacked Watson to force the Browns to punt in the final minute of the third quarter.

Shortly thereafter, the Browns announced Johnson suffered a thigh injury, and his return to the game is questionable.

Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters also suffered a calf injury in the third quarter. Baltimore ruled him out for the remainder of the game in the fourth quarter. Another standout Ravens defender, end Calais Campbell, was hurt with 11:47 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Ravens listed Campbell as questionable to return.

Browns capture 13-3 lead vs. Ravens with Deshaun Watson's TD pass late in third quarter

The Browns used momentum from Ward's interception to produce the offense's best possession of the season with Watson at QB.

Watson capped a 12-play, 91-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, and the Browns built a 13-3 lead with 2:10 remaining in the third quarter.

On third-and-goal, Peoples-Jones lined up in the backfield and was wide open when he caught a short pass from Watson. Then DPJ ran into the end zone, ensuring the Browns would capitalize on Ward's pick.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward intercepts pass on first series of second half

Ward registered a red-zone interception on the opening series of the second half.

On third-and-10 from the 15, Huntley threw a short pass intended for wide receiver DeSean Jackson, but Ward picked it off at the Cleveland 9, where the Browns started the ensuing possession with 8:18 left in the third quarter.

The Browns had a 6-3 halftime lead vs. Ravens after a Justin Tucker missed field goal

Tucker doesn't miss many field goals, but his 48-yard attempt sailed wide left with time expired in the first half.

Ward applied pressure from the left side of the defense as Tucker kicked.

The miss allowed the Browns to hold a 6-3 halftime lead.

Tucker entered the game 28-of-31 on field goals and 29-of-30 on extra points this season.

Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney knocked out of game with a head injury

Browns starting defensive end Jadeveon Clowney went to the locker room with 27 seconds left in the second quarter to be evaluated for a head injury. Clowney was accompanied by medical personnel as he left the field.

Early in the third quarter, the Browns announced Clowney would not return to the game.

Browns go ahead 6-3 with Cade York's 23-yard field goal

The Browns countered immediately after the Ravens tied the score in the second quarter.

Undrafted rookie wide receiver Daylen Baldwin caught passes of 10 and 15 yards from Watson on consecutive snaps during an 11-play, 71-yard scoring drive. Baldwin had not previously played in a regular-season NFL game.

Then tight end David Njoku had a 13-yard catch-and-run, hurdling Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey along the Cleveland sideline to put an exclamation mark on the gain.

The drive stalled on third-and-goal from the 4 when Watson's pass intended for Njoku fell incomplete in the back right corner of the end zone. Njoku stumbled and fell while running his route.

The Browns settled for York's 23-yard field goal and a 6-3 lead with 1:52 left in the second quarter.

Ravens kicker Justin Tucker's 53-yard field goal ties score vs. Browns in second quarter

The two teams traded uneventful possessions after Cleveland went ahead 3-0. Then Tucker tied the score at the end of a nine-play, 72-yard drive.

On third-and-8 at the Cleveland 33, Ravens wide receiver Devin Duvernay fumbled on a jet sweep, recovered and was tackled by Browns safety Grant Delpit for a 2-yard loss.

The play set up a 53-yard field goal for Tucker, and he nailed it to tie the score 3-3 with 5:31 left in the second quarter.

Cleveland Browns strike first with Cade York's 47-yard field goal

The Browns drew first blood on their second possession of the game.

York capped the 14-play, 64-yard drive by making a 47-yard field goal and giving the Browns a 3-0 advantage with 14:10 remaining in the second quarter.

Cleveland Browns defense registers turnover on downs early vs. Baltimore Ravens

After the Browns stalled on the game's opening possession, the Ravens took possession at their 22 and marched to the Cleveland 7, where they faced fourth-and-1.

The Ravens handed off to fullback Patrick Ricard, but Johnson met him in the hole. Johnson and Clowney combined to tackle Ricard for no gain and a turnover on downs with 6:52 remaining in the opening quarter.

The first quarter ended in a scoreless tie.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson begins home debut with a three-and-out

The Ravens won the coin toss and deferred to the second half, allowing Watson and the Cleveland offense to begin the game with the ball.

Watson and Co. went three-and-out. On third down, Watson scrambled and threw the ball away under pressure.

Before Watson's first home game with the Browns, the team introduced the offense as a unit, then announced the defensive starters individually. Watson missed the first 11 games of the season because of an NFL suspension stemming from more than two dozen women accusing the QB of sexual misconduct or sexual assault during massage appointments.
